It is a city of scamsters and touters. I have not seen a single city in the world except Kolkata where almost all cab and taxi services (including ola, uber and bikes etc) ask the customer for more money than what is shown in the app and threaten to cancel the ride otherwise. The worker class and labour class is fully corrupt

Kolkata is indeed the city of joy.
Kolkata is indeed the city of joy. Walking through the street of Kolkata means, walking through history, culture and heritage. One or two days are nothing for Kolkata. To know Kolkata, to see Kolkata you need at least a month to get the best essence of the trip. Old part of the city as well as modern part of the city has so many beautiful things to offer for a tourist. I think Kolkata is the best place to enrich ones knowledge of arts, music, literature and what not?

This was my first time visiting Kolkata.
This was my first time visiting Kolkata. I had heard that it was very congested, old, run down and dirty. I found it to be the same as most of the other big cities in India. Liked the history. However the old Kolkata could do with an uplift. To preserve some of the old buildings they need to be refurbished.
A wonderful BnB in a very nice part of Kolkata. The accommodation is tucked away on a quiet side road, so there is no noise disturbance. Good sized rooms, and very clean. Kettle in room, use of large kitchen and washing machine. The host Munna is an absolute star, very, very helpful, and a great unofficial tour advisor. Although breakfast was included, we also had dinner on two nights. Munna's cooking is superb, the best food we have had in India, all cooked to order and so tasty.
Being my first visit to the country of India from the US I was a bit unsure how our accommodations may differ from the US. I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. First, the staff at this hotel shines. They are so kind, welcoming and eager to help. Everyone greets you with a smile on their face. We approached the desk on our first day to ask about suggestions for things to do on a free day and stayed with us to ensure we were comfortable and safe.
It is little bit far from new market, if you are not new in Kolkata then it is better hotel than any hotel at marquis street. Stuff was very helpful. they provided complimentary breakfast that was really good. If you have no issue about location then this hotel is best. From the hotel, you can go new market via auto or bus rent will 20Rs. Before the booking you should check location in google map if there Were any issue.
"The hotel is located in a prime location, close to the airport and major attractions in Kolkata. The hotel is easily accessible from the railway station and bus terminals. The hotel offers well-furnished rooms with comfortable beds and basic amenities. The rooms are spacious, clean, and equipped with modern amenities like air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. The staff ensures that they are well-maintained.
This was a great stay in every way, everything was flawless. Breakfast buffet was memorable, the staff was great, the room was super comfortable and spacious for India standards. Everything was spotless. My flight was at 3am and I checked out the day before, they stored my luggage and gave me access to shower in the gym when I got back from town before I headed to the airport. Awesome EVERYTHING!
The location and the staff is the best part of staying here. The day manager- Vimal ji and his help- Khan are incredibly sweet and helpful.
As for the location, nothing beats the convenience of staying in a central and chic place like Park Street- you're minutes away from almost every tourist attraction plus right in the middle of Kolkata's most posh and amazing restaurants.
We had a wonderful time in Raajkutir Kolkata.
From the cute bedrooms to the lovely staff, everything was perfect.
The indian restaurant is great to discover indian food but if you need they also can custom some menu to suit you.
You can enjoy some quiet time whether you are at the swimming pool or within the hotel grounds.
I liked the staff's behavior. Everyone was polite. Room was clean. Breakfast was good with a decent place for sitting. The hotel is located in vicinity of Park Street which makes it easier to walk and enjoy various restaurants. Also, it is close to famous old heritage buildings of Kolkata. So, one can go there in evenings.
I loved the old world charm of the Elgin Fairlawns. There is so much character and history in this hotel. The staff were fabulous and the location was very desirable, right next to Park street and waling distance to Mother Teresa's House and South Park Street Cemetery. A wonderful place to stay in Kolkata.
I decided to extend my stay here because I feel that I’m not staying in the hotel I feel I’m home. Very comfortable , safety and the staff are very accommodating and kind. The care for their Guest and the cleanliness is top notch . This is highly recommended hotel apartment in Kolkata.
In Kolkata pure vegetarian hotels are very limited and I would say this is the best one. The food is very tasty, and they helped us serve breakfast and food with no onion and no garlic. Their Banquet Hall is quite decent and the food there was awesome, staff were all very kind.
This hotel has the best service, everybody is always trying to make you comfortable. I am travelling quite a lot and this my favourite hotel! The breakfast is out of this world, there is everything and more. The 2 restaurants, Indian/European and Thai are amazing.
Very clean hotel and room is fully equipped, great location in northern part of Kolkata Old Town, nice Indian breakfast, staff was very helpful, lots of dining options nearby
The hotel is conveniently located near several hospitals in Salt Lake. It is also not too far from the CBDs of Kolkata and Airport. We were very happy with the services.
